I feel free on the water – and responsible at the same time. Sailing taught me early on: a boat can only get through a storm safely if the course, maneuver structures, and processes are absolutely clear. Otherwise, there is a high risk for everyone on board.
This experience also shapes my view of companies and the risks to which you and the security of your data are exposed, especially through cyberattacks.
As long as “the sea” is calm, the issue of data security is often underestimated or suppressed. However, as soon as a data breach or cyberattack occurs, it immediately and often very drastically shows how vulnerable and unable to act organizations can be without preparation. Then it quickly becomes clear that they are anything but unsinkable.
I have been dealing with risks in international industries for over 30 years. Whether liability, fire protection, or complex group insurance – I have learned how crucial it is to identify risks early and manage them in a structured manner.
I was awarded the Award Trophy for Innovation by Suez Lyonnaise des Eaux in Paris for my work.
As a federally certified insurance expert, certified data protection officer and auditor (TÜV Rheinland, Cologne), and risk manager, I advise companies on how to combine strategic, legal, technical, and organizational security. Especially in the healthcare sector, I have experienced how sensitive data is and how important it is to take responsibility here.
I have realized that data protection is more than just compliance. Data protection is like navigation on stormy seas, because it provides clear orientation and prevents loss of control.
